Sharing My Story

Since I was young, I've always shared nicely (thanks mom). As I get older (and wiser), my deep rooted sharing skills are inspiring me to tell my story - of struggles, triumph and everything in between. My path seems to have steered me in a direction that feels like I am often taking the long way home without a map to lead the way. I've now realized that without life's detours, we are bound to miss so much of the good stuff.
Mine is one of those lives that's really amazing and intriguing - if it's not yours. It's not free of drama or sadness, but it won't be all dark and gloom either. That's just not "me." I live by a self-created motto: "When life kicks your ass, kick back." Side note: Or else, it might just kill you.
This all started with a teenie-eenie itty bitty tick. One I never met. One I never even knew existed until years after it bit me and I had been all around the U.S. to find out why my 25-year-old body was falling apart. The latest development in my long journey is now something I never imagined it would be. It started almost literally in my own backyard and now has found its way to New Delhi, India.
I've never been one to complain, give up, or wait around. So, I ventured off to find the truth. Now, over two years of pure confusion and 20-something doctors later, I realize I was sick long before I developed my first devastating symptom in July of 2005; the near complete loss of function in my limbs. I finally have an answer to a million suspicious symptoms big and small that I can now see clearly.
I hope you'll follow me on this journey. You'll be dumbfounded, entertained and who knows - maybe you'll learn something. I can assure you at the very least, you'll laugh, travel to India without leaving your seat, and probably become more aware than ever of how amazing the human body really is.
I'll do the hard work.....you just have to keep up.
