Most content in my favorite purple fuzzy sequin slippers, a former corporate marketing guru and now full-time writer, I am independent and proud, never following a crowd or style trend. After struggling for the last several years with a chronic illness, I hold even more importance than before to the little things in life, and none to anything else.
I love people, but am equally as happy sitting in silence tapping the keys on my laptop that I cannot seem to part with, even for a day. I am inspired and driven by few things, but when I am, there is no stopping me. I will fight for it, stand by it and become it, if I must.
I find contentment in writing, reading, photography, cooking, and cleaning (yes, really). I am a computer nerd, make a mess when I “organize” things, and play in the mud when I garden.
After traveling all over the U.S. to find out why my 25 year-old body was falling apart, I became a patient pro. Finally, in February of 2007 I discovered the reason for my neuropathy and other suspicious ailments that no one could unscramble - a missed case of Lyme Disease and other co-infections. Since then, I've been ferociously fighting to regain wellness. Because it went undiagnosed for so long, my state of health is often complicated beyond recognition.
This blog will feature my journey to India for embryonic stem cell therapy, as well as serve as information and support for anyone ready to take charge of their own healthcare. If any one man (or woman) can move a mole hill, it will be me. And, from what I know as a patient.....it's gonna take a lot of muscle. Ready or not, here I come.
My life, as complicated as it may be sometimes, is a journey I would never trade for anything.
